Project Support Officer, Value Office Delivery


What is the opportunity?
Our RBC Value Office Delivery Team is currently hiring a Project Support Officer.

In this exciting role you will collaborate with your team to deliver on Personal and Commercial Banking's Envision 2024 strategic priorities ensuring alignment using RBC's EIMF and AMF project delivery frameworks.


What will you do?

  • Partners with Senior Project/Program Managers in the creation of detailed large integrated project/program schedules ensuring the dependencies and links within the schedules are established
  • Provides ongoing maintenance of the Project Schedule using MS Project. Communicates and resolves schedule variance issues with the project team
  • Proactively and immediately identifies all risks related to project schedule/ dependencies to the Project Manager and recommends mitigation strategies
  • Follows up with Team Leads/Team members regarding changes to resources and/or tasks
  • Adheres to and promotes standards in project schedule development and management including WBS development, resource allocation and leveling, schedule integration, time reporting, and schedule risk identification and mitigation
  • Prepares weekly/monthly reporting for Senior Management/Executive view as per the programs governance model
  • Monitors, documents and supports program Cost/Financial Management control processes
  • Tracks project financials (e.g. funding amounts, contract invoices and resource forecasting) and assists in the development and analysis of financial reporting (e.g. identify tracking variances of actuals, forecast and plan, integrate risks / issues with financial forecasting)

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:


  • At least 2 years of experience related to scheduling, reporting and project cost management
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Project and proficient in MS Office
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of EPMF, AMF, iWF and SDLC
  • Organizational Awareness / Effective stakeholder management
  • Effectively manages working through others by articulating clear deliverables & accountability
  • Strong collaboration skills, financial acumen for projects and proven facilitation / presentation skills
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Mural, Confluence, Slack or Jira.
  • Completion of Project Management/Business Analysis specific learning courses
  • Undergraduate degree/Diploma
  • Most importantly, an agile mindset open to learning and finding new and innovative ways to provide value for RBC.

Nice to have:


  • Knowledge & experience in project delivery
  • Has a good understanding of the business functions and relevant core processes and how they interact
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Designation and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation
