Position:
Systems Testing/QA Specialist - Senior

Location:
Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid)

Duration:
Long Term Contract

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

7+ years of experience in system testing.
Excellent knowledge of system testing methodology and executing system and user acceptance tests
Experience with automated system testing and testing tools for CI/CD DevOps Pipelines
Experience using automated testing scripts and tools (Rational Functional Tester, Selenium or any equivalent automated testing tool).

Experience and Skill Set Requirements
Testing Experience

7+ years of experience in system testing.
Excellent knowledge of system testing methodology and executing system and user acceptance tests

Ability to understand and analyze business requirements, and systems response documents, to design and execute test plans to ensure the system functions and meets the business requirements.
Experience verifying actual results meet expected results, examining test databases using SQL, analyzing and logging test results, documenting and monitoring resolution of system variances using an automated problem management system (e.g. Clear Quest).
Ability to write test plans and test cases that are wellstructured, easy to maintain, and easily understood by both developers and business analysts and clients, providing detailed testing plans.
Proven and demonstrable troubleshooting and analytical experience.
Demonstrated excellent problem solving and decisionmaking skills.
Experience analyzing business requirements documentation including use cases, user stories and other nonfunctional requirements.
Experience analyzing test data requirements and create appropriate test data to support the test strategy.
Experience with automated system testing and testing tools for CI/CD DevOps Pipelines
Experience testing datamigration processes.
Experience preparing and maintaining defect summaries and reports to aid with prioritization of work and defect tracking.
Experience using automated testing scripts and tools (e.g. Rational Functional Tester, Selenium or any equivalent automated testing tool).
5+ years of experience with Agile project management and development practices (managing the backlog, preparing and supporting the scrum master, sprint planning, creating user stories etc.

Analytical Skills

Proven and demonstrable troubleshooting and analytical experience
Demonstrated excellent problem solving and decisionmaking skills
Experience analyzing business requirements documentation including Use Cases and nonfunctional requirements
Experience analyzing test data requirements and create appropriate test data to support the test strategy

Communications Skills

Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Strong Interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Strong consulting skills to engage with all stakeholders.
A demonstrated team player with a track record for meeting deadlines.
Demonstrated success in working productively with business clients, developers, and technical specialists such as DBAs, web administrators, etc.
Demonstrated experience reporting status, progress, and key issue/concerns to project managers and leads.
