The Opportunity:


  • We are looking for a full or parttime cardiac stress test technician.
  • Reporting to the Operations team, this position requires performing Exercise Stress tests.
  • A cardiac stress test technician uses specialized equipment to monitor a patient's heart function.

Job Type:
Part-time / Full-time.


Salary:
Commensurate with experience.


Work Location:2150 Robertson Road, Nepean. (in person)


What You'll Do:


In this role, you set up the machines used to measure the patient's heart rate, such as an EKG machine, and attach wire monitors to the patient.

While the patient performs activities to increase their heart rate, such as walking or running on a treadmill, you collect data on cardiac function and document it.

Physician supervision and delegation are always present.

What We're Looking For:


EDUCATION & TRAINING:

  • Cardiac Technician diploma (or equivalent) with active registration and membership in good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) (or similar).
  • Recent experience in a clinical setting performing Exercise stress tests.
  • Demonstrated advanced arrhythmia interpretation skills.
  • CPR training/ certification.
  • Must be permanently eligible to work in Canada (i.e., Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen) or have a Work Permit valid beyond 12 months (no sponsorships).

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


  • Demonstrated knowledge of arrhythmia interpretation skills.
  • Ability to prepare accurate reports for physician interpretation.
  • Demonstrated effective communication (written and verbal), organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated effective problemsolving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize in a fastpaced clinical environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work responsibly in an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively relate to client/patient population and possess exceptional bedside manners.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining and improving individual competence.

EXPERIENCE:

Cardiac Technologist: 1 year (preferred) Must have prior experience in ECG, Exercise Stress Tests.


License/Certification:


  • CSCT. (required)
  • CPR certification. (required)
