Description
Responsibilities:
- Makes sure safety is the number one priority and participates in activities that support this
- Ensures all employees in their work area are working optimally and have all the tools they need
- Helps set up machines for daily use
- Suggests continuous improvement ideas
- Works with the Production Supervisor to ensure a smooth and seamless flow of production in their work area
- If needed, operates machine(s) to produce the desired quality product(s)
- Helps to fix machine issues that might occur during the shift
- Immediately escalates any machine issues they are not able to fix
- Conducts preventative maintenance on machines/equipment
- Understands the standard operating procedures (SOP) for the machines
- Trains direct reports on how to do their tasks
- Maintains a good relationship with the Production Supervisors
- Immediately reports any safety hazards they observe within the factory
- Suggests ways to improve equipment and equipment processes
- Updates and maintains machine records
- Maintains housekeeping throughout the shift and at the end of the shift
- Ensures area is organized and 5S standards are sustained and improved continuously
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Skills:
- Previous experience as a Lead Hand is a strict requirement
- Basic computer skills
- Understanding of production processes and how to deal with different personality types
- Attention to detail
- Proactive personality
- Willingness to work the afternoon shift (3:30pm to 12:00am)
- Workdays are Monday to Friday
- Willing to help out in other areas of the factory if needed
- Team player
