Norwood Sawmills is a global leader in portable sawmills and is looking for an energetic, motivated Production Lead Hand to join the team Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will guide the Production Team in procedures to ensure a smooth and safe operation, while maintaining product quality and achieving production targets.


What you bring to the team:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Warehouse setting.
  • You hold a valid Forklift and Raymond Reach License.
  • Understanding and strong knowledge of production processes and techniques.
  • Accountability, passion, and commitment towards your work everyday.
  • You have exceptional communication skills, ability to understand direction from the Manager and/or Supervisor, to communicate it effectively to the team.
  • Proficiency in productionrelated software including NetSuite.

A typical day for the Production Lead Hand:

  • Guide the Production Team while being hands-on in production process, ensuring it runs smoothly and effectively.
  • Assist team with questions that may arise regarding;
  • Assembly building
  • Executing final stage of assembly process
  • Packaging of sawmill parts
  • Provide feedback to the Warehouse Supervisor on team members performance and skills.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of products to prevent damage with Material Handlers.
  • Maintain a consistent flow in and out of production lines with mínimal downtime.
  • Review production schedules and make suggestions on workflows that will help with production goals.
  • Guide and train the team in a helpful and positive manner.
  • Identify training opportunities within the department for the Production Associates.
