Purpose:

The Surface Operations Superintendent is part of the Surface Operations team.

Reporting to the Process and Maintenance Manager, he/she supervises the operational and maintenance activities at the ore processing facilities and surface infrastructures.

The Surface Operations Superintendent adheres to the company's principles by adopting a management approach focused on sustainable development.

He/she promotes Newmont's values using the company's standards and applies the key principles of operational excellence and the rules of the organization's code of conduct.


Essential Duties:


  • Assurer le maintient de la production sécuritaire du département des opérations de surface
- Établir et encadrer l'atteinte des objectifs du département

  • Assurer l'encadrement et l'évaluation de ses subordonnés et planifier leur développement professionnel
  • Superviser une équipe composée de superviseurs, contremaitres généraux et d'ingénieurs
  • Travailler de concert avec ses collègues du procédé, de la métallurgie, des services surface et de la maintenance afin d'assurer une cohésion dans les activés de chaque secteur afin d'atteindre les objectifs communs
  • Participer la la préparer du plan de production et élaborer les stratégies d'opération en lien avec la production et l'entretien
  • Participer à la préparation des budgets du département et faire le suivi des coûts
  • Faire la mise en place et le suivi des projets du département pour amélioré la sécurité, les productivités et les coûts
  • Faire la mise en place d'indicateur clé de performance (KPI) et en faire le suivi
  • Faire le suivi du plan de gestion des actifs et participer à l'optimisation des équipements du secteur et aligner les stratégies de gestions selon la vision de l'entreprise
  • Participer à la revue des enquêtes d'événement et élaborer des plans d'action
  • Respecter, connaître et promouvoir les règlements et politiques de l'entreprise, particulièrement en matière de santé et sécurité
  • Toutes tâches connexes à l'exercice de ses fonctions

Training & Experience:


  • University degree or college diploma in a field related to mineral processing
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in mineral processing, with strong exposure to gold operations and management
  • Good computer skills: Microsoft Office suite, PI datalink
  • Bilingualism in French and English essential
