Description
Heavy Equipment TechnicianWe're seeking a Full-Time Permanent Heavy Equipment Technician to join our Infrastructure team.
Under the direction of the Shop Supervisor, this position is responsible for repairs, troubleshooting, overhauling and maintenance of all light and heavy-duty equipment and vehicles in a fleet environment.
Check and inspect equipment and vehicles for proper performance; interpret work orders and technical manualsDiagnose faults or malfunctions using testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications and legislated regulations
Assist in the day-to-day operations of the shop including housekeeping and the maintenance of equipment & tools within the shop
Completion of service reports and records of maintenance for each unit or vehicle.
5 years' experience with heavy equipment and class 8 tractor trailers.
~ Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Certification for both highway and off road.
~ Red Seal would be considered an asset.
~ The ability to obtain an Alberta Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program license.
~ Valid Class 5 required, Alberta Operators License; Class 1 and/or 3 or Q, considered an asset.
~ Fleet maintenance background would be an asset.
~ Ability to work on multiple projects.
~ Quality customer relations, communication, and interpersonal skills.
~ Basic computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) Fleet Maintenance Management Work Order Systems, and diagnostic software such as Cummins Insite, Allison DOC, CAT, E.Fall Protection, Forklift and Overhead Crane Certification would be considered an asset; however, training and certification can be provided.
