Stores Supervisor - Kitchener, Canada - Colt Canada

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide supervision and support to all shipping / receiving and Stores team members.
- Oversee the daily shipping and receiving tracking, reporting (and recovery plan execution as required)
- Oversee the accurate maintenance of all records of shipment.
- Ensure there is adequate documentation for all incoming and outgoing shipments using ledgers, packing slips, ERP, etc.
- Conduct and oversee all inventorytakes, annual inventory, as well as periodic internal and external audits.
- Review all inventory variances and define root cause and corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Establish controls to ensure proper levels of all consumable product as it relates to the shipment / receipt of product in and out of Colt Canada
- Ensure team members have a means and method to provide accurate records and information as requested.
- Oversee the development and tracking of KPI as they relate to department metrics.
- Manage and report on freight costs as required.
- Communicate the status of operations within the department in a timely manner to management including any safety and/or process problems.
- Ensure accurate and timely prepared documentation including but not limited to bills of lading (BOL), customs forms, third party delivery slips, customer shipment documents.
- A clear understanding and ability to coordinate and staging of orders in a timely manger according to the production schedule
- Manage the development of comprehensive work instructions, procedures, and workflows for the movement of products and materials in and out of the departments and companies.
- Determine appropriate transportation needs and plan with carriers.

Health & Safety
- Maintain a safe work environment, handling and managing all material and shipments with the proper procedural steps and protocols required for the work scope.
- Ensure all team members are trained in safe handling practices and procedures.
- Assist with, and ensure all material is loaded and unloaded safely.
- Ensure that all health and safety policies and procedures are followed by team members.
- Support the training and any required certification process for all members of the shipping / receiving and Stores department.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Responsible for all cycle count proceedings and outcomes
- Responsible for the complete and accurate reporting of all inbound and outbound shipments under Colt Canada's control
- Responsible for the organization and deployment of product to and from Colt Canada's offsite warehouse
- Ensure that all storage and warehousing is monitored and utilized which includes all piece / part locations identified and space is maintained in a clean and organized and identifiable manner
- Space is kept clean and organized with emphasis on space utilization
- Ensure all Colt Canada information is secure and confidential.
- Adherence to Colt Canada Corporation's policies and procedures
- Ammunition control and tracking / storage
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Valid G License.
- Obtain Enhanced Security Clearance from the Government of Canada
- Minimum 7 years' experience in a similar role including 3 years professional driving experience (5ton trucks) and 3 years' experience driving forklift.
- Experience using all material handling equipment, including weigh scales and packaging equipment.
- Experience working with customs brokers to obtain/provide required paperwork for international shipping is an asset.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Epicor or similar ERP.
- Has, or can obtain, Restricted Possession and Acquisition License.

- Office environment

- Manufacturing Environment (PPE Required) 90% of time will be standing, walking throughout the plant, while also moving and lifting inventory, lifting 50lbs or more,
- Travel 10% of travel within Kitchener/Waterloo, and around Southern Ontario
