Job description
LeverageTek is actively seeking a Data Test Engineer for a 12-month contract with its Ottawa-based customer.Work Location
The successful candidate will be required to work 3x/week on-site at the customer headquarters in Ottawa, ON.
Key Tasks
Lead, plan, and coordinate ETL/Data testing activities including test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts
Write and execute complex SQL-based test scripts on Azure Databricks to validate data warehouse and data engineering processes
Record test execution results, document defects, and maintain evidence of testing in Azure DevOps
Coordinate and support business stakeholders during User Acceptance Testing
Lead defect triage meetings, work with developers on resolution, and perform retesting
Develop technical system specifications, standard operating procedures, and provide ongoing status reporting to the project authority
Key Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of ETL/Data testing experience, including writing detailed test cases and complex test scripts based on documented data mapping and business transformation rules
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data platform including Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Databases, and Azure Data Lake
Strong end-to-end data engineering lifecycle experience including systems analysis, development, testing, deployment, and implementation of batch and stream data pipeline
Qualifications
5+ years of experience performing functional, integration, system integration, and performance testing for data transformation processes
Advanced SQL expertise including writing complex queries, performance tuning, and data optimization
Experience designing, developing, implementing, and testing data solutions to support reporting tools such as Power BI
Experience working in Agile sprint environments using Azure DevOps for test management and defect tracking
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and provide status updates to leadership
