- Our client is seeking a consultant Cloud/DevOps Engineer to join the team for designing and setting up application hosting and integration services on Azure and AWS.
- Our client is responsible for IT project management, delivery, and implementation of technologies.
- The Shared Utility Service (SUS) environment provides a scalable and secure hybrid cloud IT infrastructure to meet the application hosting needs and by extension, the program areas.
- The environment presently hosts approximately 180 internal and public-facing government applications, both traditional and cloud-native.
- Senior DevOps Engineer supports the design and implementation of the Shared Utility Service (SUS) platform on public cloud IaaS.
- Creating and updating service templates used for provisioning cloud resources and installing software required for running the business applications.
- Setting up the DevSecOps pipeline for the build and deployment of ministry applications across various runtime environments.
- Setting up, configuring, and maintaining common platform components such as logging, auditing, monitoring, alerting, vulnerability detection, etc.
- Support the operations team in troubleshooting application issues related to the platform components.
- 2+ years' experience on OpenShift or Azure Cloud.
- 2+ years' experience in DevSecOps.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and DevOps tools.
- Candidates with cloud architecture certification on Azure or AWS.
- Previous Public Sector Experience is an asset.
- Experience with coordinating initiatives with both technical and business stakeholders
- Experience with planning and implementation of changes
- Experience creating and maintaining documentation for operational procedures
- 3+ years of hands-on experience deploying and optimizing applications on the public cloud. Experience working on private cloud will be a plus.
- Experience in building Terraform templates and Ansible playbooks is a must-have.
- Extensive knowledge of the cloud architecture and costing model is expected. Candidates with cloud architecture certification on Azure or AWS will be preferred. Experience on Kubernetes-based cloud platforms (such as OpenShift) is highly desirable.
- Multiple years of experience in traditional n-tier application architecture and technologies
- 2+ years of working experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- 2+ years of working experience with IBM WebSphere/Liberty/NDM
- 2+ years of technical working experience in supporting application/web servers
- Experience with Managed File Transfer systems or FTP/SFTP systems will be an asset
- Development experience or exposure to the DataPower gateway will be an asset
- Development experience with Informatica, IBM MQ, and IBM ACE will be an asset
- General exposure to network topologies (firewalls, load balancers, DNS)
- 2+ years of working experience with DevSecOps tools for building and deploying traditional as well as containerized workloads
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub, Nexus, Urban Code Deploy, Urban Code Velocity, etc. is desirable
- Experience setting up SAST, DAST, and Container Vulnerability Scanning tools and associated mitigation processes is highly desirable
- Experience working within the OPS, BPS, or other government would be preferred
- Hybrid role- 3-days per week onsite required
- A hybrid position expects a successful candidate to work from the office three days per week
