    Be our next Intermediate Civil Technologist - Municipal Infrastructure

    Your work environment at EXP

    In this role, you will be a part of the Municipal Infrastructure team, based in Burnaby, BC office.

    What a day at EXP has in store for you

    • Prepares engineering analysis, design, and calculations for a portion or all of a project
    • Designs grading and drainage for site improvements
    • Designs utility piping systems
    • Performs hydrology and hydraulic calculations for gravity and pressure piping systems and above ground conveyances
    • Work with dynamic design teams, including civil engineers, stormwater engineers, planners, architects, landscape architects, and lighting engineers.
    • Prepares project drawings, construction drawings, and engineering drawings required for construction approvals.
    • Assist with the preparation of contract documents and specifications
    • Prepares proposals and fee estimates for projects of limited scope and complexity
    • Performs construction assistance related tasks including responding to RFI (Request for Information), visiting a job site, reviewing submittals, and coordinating with the design team for revisions
    • Familiar with all aspects of construction document preparation and capable of independently making design decisions and preparing the construction document package

    What your experience looks like

    • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or similar post-secondary education
    • 5-8 years of experience in a Civil Engineering role
    • Registered with ASET.
    • Proficient in using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, knowledge of Microstation is an asset
    • Ability to work on several projects concurrently
    • Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficient with the use of computers, including spreadsheets, word processing, and engineering software and ability to prepare electronic design calculation documents
    • Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively on a project team
    • Ability to plan ones' own time and manage the time of others, as needed, demonstrates good time management skills
    • Ability to problem solve, complete assigned tasks efficiently, and exercise sound engineering judgment
    • Strong sense of urgency and self- initiative to meet client deadlines

    The salary range for this role is between $58,000-$76,000. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
