    The Opportunity

    Our internship provides ambitious Human Resources career entrants with an opportunity to develop and enhance practical skills by exposure and assignment of hands-on tasks. You will work in a positive and inclusive work environment where innovation, creativity, and collaboration are encouraged. You'll work alongside and support members of our experienced team in key Human Resources functions such as Recruitment, Training and Development, Labour and Employee Relations, Health and Safety, and Total Compensation.

  • Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary Certificate and/or Diploma in a Business Administration Program with a focus in Human Resources
  • Knowledge of Human Resources programs and administration to support coordination of corporate initiatives and provide project assistance
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative framework including but not limited to, Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, the Municipal Act
  • Knowledge of HR information systems and databases to access data, gather appropriate information for specific HR-related purposes and to prepare reports
  • Proficiency with common office productivity software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook as well as other presentation and database applications to prepare correspondence, reports and presentations, and coordinate meetings
  • Ability to research initiatives and prepare reports and recommendations
  • Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and senior leaders to provide written research, program support and to respond to enquiries as needed
  • Hours of work: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday (35 hours/week) in office.
