Position Summary

The main purpose of this position is to ensure that products are produced while meeting safety, quality, and production requirements.

This includes but is not limited to machine operation, scheduling labour in the absence of the supervisor, coordinating with the maintenance department, and troubleshooting machine set-up problems.

The lead hand will report to the Production Supervisor. The incumbent will ensure operators are following all safety protocols, meeting quality requirements, and meeting or exceeding production requirements.

It is expected that this individual will be the expert in the department and will have a comprehensive understanding of all products and processes.

What you'll do:

Support operations team
Lead health and safety initiatives
Lead quality assurance initiatives
Support machine operators with any issues that may arise
Assist with inventory initiatives
Provide other assistance as requested by the plant manager

What you'll need:

Knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and worker's compensation legislation
Strong understanding of quality assurance programs
Experience in a manufacturing environment in a leadership position
Ability to drive a forklift/forklift license is considered an asset
