As the Manager Telecommunication & Collaboration, you will report directly to the Director Operation Support Services and be part of a Technology team providing oversight in the strategic delivery of Enterprise Telephony, Contact Center and Collaboration Technology Services.

You will guide a team dedicated to the design, delivery and execution of telecommunication and collaboration strategies, encompassing voice services, Contact Center support, collaboration platforms, audio visual and event services, and mobile device management to support critical business capabilities for the Technology Services Division.


This role focuses on leading the team towards the modernization and evolution of telecommunication and collaboration services, building capacity, capability, and skillsets in the dynamic realm of emerging technology services, ensuring a forward-looking approach to meet evolving business needs throughout the City.


Specifically, you will provide leadership in the areas of:


Strategic Planning & Operations Leadership:


  • Set the overall strategic direction and roadmap for modernization and strategic delivery of telecommunication & collaboration technologies in alignment with with technology and business priorities, corporate architecture direction and industry best practices, to enhance innovation and efficiency, and to improve service delivery.
  • Provide technical and team leadership in the 24/7/365 support of the City's enterprise telecommunications, contact center and collaboration technologies.
  • Lead the support and modernization of the City's Legislated space Audio Visual technologies focusing on sustainable, high quality hybrid event management.
  • Build, deliver and measure strategic execution roadmap for Telecommunication and collaboration technologies in alignment with City and Divisional priorities.
  • Partner with Divisions on requirements analysis, concept development and RFx's.

Budget Management:


  • Budget management, including planning and monitoring, reporting, and resource management and allocation, financial forecasting, cost analysis, and risk assessment for your operational and project budgets.
  • Develop, recommend, and administer the annual budget for the section, and ensures that the section's expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.
  • Provide consultation and assists divisions in developing technology investment plans, building business cases for funding approval, preparing budgets, establishing project framework and resources.

Partnership, Vendor & Relationship Management:
