Summary of Duties:
The Homemaker oversees all aspects of running a household, from cleaning and maintaining the home to performing routine upkeep and minor home repairs.
Key Deliverables and Expectations:
- Provide housekeeping, laundry and Meal planning and preparation.
- Report in timely manner any accidents or incidents involving residents to your direct report
- Clean kitchen area after meals so area is clean, organized and ready for future meals.
- Washing dishes after meals which includes, preparing dishes for dishwasher, putting clean dishes away after meals which include lifting dish rack and putting dishes in storage area
- Cleaning floors after meals which includes sweeping and vacuuming and moping area
- Cleaning kitchen areas such as washing out refrigerators, stoves, food drawers, sink, or other areas which require routine cleaning maintenance.
- Provide companionship
- Help with nonmedical transportation
- Documentation of care
- Perform other related duties as requested.
Experience and Attributes:
- Highschool diploma/ GED equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Home Support Worker/ Care Aide/ Home Care Assistant
- Compassionate, patient and caring nature
- Ability to push and lift up to 50 pounds
- Position requires accuracy an ability to function in housekeeping, laundry and dietary duties.
- Ability to follow supervisor's instructions in a safe and adequate manner while adhering to company and facility policies and procedures.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Ability to work independently and as an integral member of various teams.
- Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines prioritizes assignments, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Motivated selfstarter and with strong interpersonal skills.
- Highly professional in all aspects of business, presentation and interaction with all stakeholders, clients, and Members.
- Food safe, WHMIS, 1st Aid certificate
- BC driver's license with reliable transportation
- Clear criminal record check (vulnerable sector)
