JOB PROFILE
Bevco is looking for someone to contribute in all areas of our shipping, receiving and inventory control operations. The Shipper-Receiver will support our lead in this area and cover for him in his absence.
The Shipper-Receiver will also help maintain the cleanliness and organization of our yard and manage our waste and recycling programs.
HOURS
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM (regular hours)
- Friday: 7:00 AM to 3:15PM (overtime on an asneeded basis)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Shipping and Receiving
- Communicate on the phone and in person with suppliers, customer, freight brokers, trucking companies, couriers, etc.
- Oversee loading/unloading of outgoing/incoming shipments
- Operate forklift to load/unload shipments and move inventory around without damaging materials
- Visually inspect incoming inventory for quality and quantity and cross reference with Packing Slips and Purchase Orders
- Organize incoming shipments from suppliers, move incoming inventory into warehouse and store properly.
- Package parts orders for safe shipment
- Arrange for shipment of large crates and skids with freight brokers and for smaller packages with UPS or other couriers
- Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including Commercial Invoices and USMCA forms for customs clearance
Inventory
- Regularly monitor inventory levels to assess purchasing needs
- Carry out annual inventory counts and periodic cycle counts
- Use Syspro to update inventory levels and pricing and charge out parts to jobs
- Pull parts from inventory for jobs and parts sales
- Monitor shop staff pulling parts for jobs and maintain records
- Maintain a clean warehouse and organized inventory
Purchasing
- Obtain quotes from suppliers and issue Purchase Orders
- Create work orders for items made inhouse and provide all information to shop to make
- Maintain regularly updated logbooks
- Receive purchased parts in Syspro ERP
Yard and Plant Maintenance
- Monitor access to yard via gate and maintain security
- Maintain a clean and organized yard, crate building area and warehouse building
- Breakdown unused pallets and neatly stockpile in designated areas
- Use Bevco truck to carry out local pickups and disposal runs
- Assist with building maintenance activities within capabilities
- Monitor food waste bins and change out bags for disposal as needed
- Manage Bevco's recycling storage and paper shredding areas
- Check and replenish bathroom supplies daily
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High School Diploma
- Additional asset: training or courses in supply chain management, logistics, warehouse management
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong computer skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Tape measure accuracy
- Heavy lifting
- Forklift operation (certification provided by Bevco)
- Valid BC drivers license
- Experience with ERPs, such as Syspro, is a strong asset
- Ability to drive a truck with a trailer is an asset
