Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greets customers and provides excellent customer service.
  • Take customers' orders and serve them quick and efficiently.
  • Operates cash register and process money and credit/debit payments.
  • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
  • Memorize PLU codes for produce and bakery items
  • Bag merchandise.
  • Issue receipts and/or change due to customers.
  • Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
  • Notifies management in cases of theft or shoplifting.
  • Checks bottom of the shopping cart.
  • Promptly notifying a member of management to resolve customer issues.
  • Prepares the store for weekday and weekend opening and closing.
  • Complies with store policies and procedures.
  • Performs other tasks as required by management to meet business needs.
  • Needs to be available to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Good communication skills and ability to read and write in English.
  • Customer service oriented and able to make good decisions.
  • Able to work under mínimal supervision.
  • Able to work in fastpaced environment and have attention to detail.
  • Experience with cash handling considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a grocery store considered an asset.
  • Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
