This position will oversee the entire property with a focus on creating a memorable experience for our guests and assisting front line employees through coaching and leadership.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant Manager will oversee all aspects of the hotel including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Restaurant Operations.
To manage all aspects of the business
Overall responsibility for the financial success of the property, including budgeting, forecasting, yield and revenue management.
Manage all sources of revenue. Focus would be maintaining established cost and quality standards, maximizing profits, developing and retaining employees and exceeding guest expectations.
Leadership and management of all departments.
Responsible for the development and execution of business plans, including sales & marketing plans.
Develop, prepare, execute and achieve financial goals.
Determine the Hotel's pricing strategy as it relates to room inventory and anticipated market segment mix in order to exceed market-share occupancy at better-than-market yield ratio.
Represent the hotel in appropriate hotel, tourism and business associations.
Strong community involvement.
Ensure service standards are met and exceeded i.e. Rooming the guest, anticipation of guest needs, resolving guest complaints, up selling, cross-selling.
Implement and maintain all Employer policies & procedures.
Promote Brand and Employer's philosophies throughout the hotel to both employees and guests.
Ensure that all appropriate systems and controls are in place to produce accurate monthly financial reports and knowledge at all times where the hotel stands against budget.
Control purchases and inventories.
Recruit, develop, supervise and evaluate his/her staff.
Corresponds with group and travel agents to answer special requests for rooms and rates
Assists with sales and marketing efforts as directed
Daily monitor sales and statistics to maximize revenue opportunities
Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services
Protect the hotel and its assets through enforcing and maintaining a preventive maintenance program, resulting in employee and guest safety, orderly operations, good appearance, and compliance with brand and legislative standards.
Responsible for communicating and coordinating with Housekeeping, Sales and Catering, Maintenance and Food & Beverage to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Ensure banquet/meeting room requirements are met and any concerns are dealt with in a timely fashion
Determine training requirements and construct work/review work schedules including Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Food and Beverage to ensure proper staffing levels to maintain desired service levels
Performs functions of the General Manager in their absence.
Available 24/7 with reliable transportation
Covers shifts in all departments as scheduled by the General Manager
All other duties as assigned
