Livingstone Range School Division is currently seeking applications for Casual Custodians. As a Casual Custodian, you may be required to cover full-time or part-time absences, support projects, or attend extracurricular events like evening tournaments or weekend activities.

The Casual Custodian plays a vital role in maintaining a positive environment by effectively communicating and collaborating with the public, colleagues, staff, and management to meet all site requirements. They should demonstrate the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities of a Casual Custodian may involve physical tasks such as lifting chairs, moving furniture, cleaning equipment, and using various chemicals in the daily work routine.

• Cleaning washrooms, fixtures, and partitions thoroughly
• Washing desks, counters, doors, windows, etc.
• Dusting throughout the school premises
• Mopping, vacuuming, and waxing floors
• Securing Division buildings
• Garbage collection and disposal
• Performing preventative maintenance tasks
• Snow and ice removal from walkways

This role will report to the Health and Safety Coordinator and requires the ability to work autonomously and maintain building security.

Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent

Additional Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

• Proven initiative and sound judgment
• Ability to foster positive relationships in a team-oriented setting
• Capacity to work independently and adapt to changing conditions
• Competence in carrying out daily routine tasks
• Proficiency in handling cleaning chemicals and procedures

Fitness and Abilities

• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
• Capability to lift and carry up to 22 kg independently
• Aptitude to work in a physically demanding environment
• Proficiency in handling various chemicals

Conditions of Employment

• Satisfactory police information check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check
