Job Purpose
The Director, Regulatory Compliance, is responsible for two key functions:

  • Ontario Energy Board (OEB) compliance-related matters, leading and supporting a team of three to four experienced professionals
  • The Regulatory Department's Research and Regulatory Administration Group, leading a team of four to five experienced professionals

Specific Accountabilities
For OEB compliance matters, the Director, Regulatory Compliance performs the following functions:

  • Leads Hydro One's participation in OEB compliance-related proceedings
  • Leads the implementation of compliancerelated OEB decisions, directions, or policies
  • Leads Hydro One's response to OEB compliance inquiries and investigations
  • Monitors and resolves emergent regulatory issues particularly as they relate to compliance matters
  • Leads the ongoing assessment and review of internal processes and controls to ensure OEB compliance and identify and implement process improvements
  • Maintains ongoing relationships with the regulator and other authorities, supporting the advancement of Hydro One's position with internal and external parties
  • Other duties as assigned
In respect of the Research and Regulatory Administration Team, the Director, Regulatory Compliance performs the following functions:

  • Oversee Hydro One's process to file materials with the Ontario Energy Board and other stakeholders
  • Oversee the management of the Regulatory Affairs SharePoint site and support other departments with their respective Teams and Sharepoint sites
  • Provide direction to other departments on the preparation of data and materials to be filed with the Ontario Energy Board and other regulators
  • Manage communications between regulators, senior management and Hydro One
  • Manage the department's budget, and training and development needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education

  • A university bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering, commerce, or similar
  • Postgraduate studies or accreditation in business, law, regulatory or audit preferred

Required Experience

  • Requires 1015 years experience with a majority of that experience in a regulatoryrelated discipline
  • Requires experience leading teams and communicating effectively to executive leadership teams, Boards of Directors, external regulatory, legal and governmental bodies.
