Required immediately, our Winnipeg branch is seeking a
general manager

Position Summary:


The primary goal of the General Manager is to expand the customer base while maintaining effective relationships with our customers to drive long term sales goals.

The GM will oversee all functions of the branches within the designated area from the hiring of employees to managing customer relations to implementing business strategies.


Qualifications:


  • 510 years in management with demonstrated great leadership skills and a strong marketing / sales background
  • Multiunit location management considered an asset
  • Understanding and/or experience in manufacturing an asset
  • Post-Secondary Education, BA preferred
  • Advanced computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office products
  • Awareness of accounting principles an asset
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects with attention to detail
  • Handle challenging situations with diplomacy, tact and respect
  • Strong verbal and written communicational skills
  • Excel in problem solving on a daily basis
  • Valid Driver's License

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develops and executes Sales Plans to ensure customer account base sales growth, with both existing and new accounts within the assigned markets
  • Constant evaluation of Segment and Account sales results, to provide Impactful changes
  • Talent Development assesses, attracts, trains and retains the top talent within the local marketplace
  • Manages expenses with approved budgets, develops and overseas sales plans and recommend marketing strategies for the local market
  • Maintains awareness of area market trends/activity and competitors in the industry
  • Live the value of exceptional customer service every day by maintaining fruitful relationships with current customers and establish good relationships with new ones by understanding forthcoming customer initiatives
  • Increases the overall productivity of the area markets by implementing relevant employee training, budgeting effectively, eliminating inefficiencies and capturing growth opportunities while continually fostering a strong sales culture and "team" atmosphere
  • Manages daily operations, especially customer service and finance activities, and makes improvements as needed within each assigned branch, as well as compliance with company and industry policies and procedures
  • Proposes and rolls out changes and/or new initiatives to support Company goals
  • Prepares departmental reports and completes employee administration (reviews, vacation scheduling, time cards, etc.)
  • Local travel with occasional outoftown
  • Other duties as assigned
