Air Inuit has been providing essential scheduled, charter, cargo, and emergency air transportation services in Nunavik and beyond, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for over 45 years.

Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through the Makivik Corporation, the airline operates a fleet of 37 aircraft and employs approximately 1100 employees in one of the most challenging flight environments.


Air Inuit's Management and its team of dedicated employees are committed to the company's mission of providing safe, timely and courteous air service to the people living and doing business in the enchanting region of Nunavik, Northern Quebec.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and coordinate all activities of the station (counter agents, cargo service, ramp operations, accommodation) in order to offer exceptional and hasslefree customer service, both internal and external;
  • Recruit, supervise and develop a training and development plan to ensure that the knowledge of its employees is continuously updated;
  • Establish and manage work schedules;
  • Act as a resource person for staff;
  • Evaluates and follows up on employees;
  • Participate in Air Inuit's integrated safety management system;
  • Participate in the preparation and rigorous management of the station's operational and budgetary plans;
  • Participate in the management committees of its directorate;
  • Please, in collaboration with appropriate resources, to maintain Air Inuit's equipment, vehicles and buildings in good condition;
  • Develop and maintain excellent communication with customers, employees and other departments of the company;
  • Manage and deal with customer complaints;
  • Participate in the development of contracts awarded to external service providers and ensure their management: snow removal, housekeeping, specialized companies;
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives for daytoday operations;
  • Support all departments that need assistance during a fortuitous stop to ensure that they offer the necessary assistance during their stays (accommodation, transport, food);
  • Actively participate in occupational health and safety initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hold a college diploma in an appropriate discipline or equivalent work experience;
  • Experience in the aviation field in a similar position (5 years);
  • Excellent human resources management skills including work teams and conflict resolution;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Attitude et comportement professionnels (aptitudes pour le travail d'équipe, autonomie, dynamisme, entregent, polyvalence, sens de l'initiative, sens de l'organisation);
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, French, English;
  • Excellent knowledge of northern operations;
  • Leadership and decisionmaking skills, stress tolerance;
  • Available to travel for meetings and/or support other Air Inuit network stations;
  • Have demonstrated high ethical standards in previous employment.

COMPENSATION

  • The salary is determined according to our remuneration policy.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Modified work schedule: 3 weeks of work / 2 weeks of leave;
  • Service vehicle;
  • If the position is not filled locally, air transportation from Montreal or Quebec City as well as room and board will be included.
