Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring patient identification, safety and preparation is correct before a scan while maintaining patient confidentiality by complying with PHIPA;
Greeting patients in a friendly and professional manner, explaining forthcoming tests;
Ensuring all quality control assessments are performed as required and that equipment will provide a qualitative image;
Perform only diagnostic imaging procedures for those areas that you have knowledge, skills and judgment to perform effectively, safely and ethically.
Proven interpersonal skills to successfully communicate with patients and staff, as well as problemsolving abilities;
Operating Safety and sanitary procedures after each test on the equipment;
Demonstrate good perception, motivation, judgment and concern for detail and accuracy;

Required Qualifications:

Active membership in Sonography Canada with the following credentials: Canadian Registered Generalist Sonographer and/or ARDMS (AB, OB/GYN, BR, MSKS) or CARDUP.
Competence in performing the following types of Ultrasound examinations: AB, OB/GYN, BR, MSKS, IPS.
