About the position:

The Edmonton Convention Centre Group is looking for
Event Security to join the team.

This role serves as a significant resource for our venues, providing a full range of services surrounding ECC events and ensuring the safety and security of staff, clients, contractors, and members of the public.

This casual position is great for those with flexible or busy schedules as you chose your hours.

  • Supporting events at the Edmonton Convention Centre & Expo Centre.
  • Ensuring the safety and security of staff members, clients, contractors, and members of the public.
  • Providing excellent customer service and creating memorable experiences.
  • Screening guests upon entry to events and roam assigned areas.
  • Responding to emergency situations.
  • Completing incident reports and documentation related to security incidents.
  • Must have a valid Alberta Security Services and Investigators Act License (SSIA License).
  • Must have ProServe and ProTect certification or be willing to obtain upon hire.
  • Minimum 6 months of security industry related experience.
  • Ability to address individuals in a serviceoriented manner and to perform their duties calmly under stressful circumstances.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (English).
  • Possess the ability to stand, walk and sit for significant periods of time. Physical ability will be important to this position as security guards often have to handle and transport materials that are over 25lbs.
  • Possession of current certification in standard first aid or equivalent (St. John's, Red Cross, Emergency Medical Planning Canada
  • GMCC) would be an asset.
  • Useofforce and verbal deescalation training would be an asset.
