Job Summary

The Ontario Molecular Pathology Research Network (OMPRN) is seeking to recruit a Molecular Pathology Education Associate.

OMPRN is a province-wide network of pathologists collaborating to carry out high-quality cancer research with a clear potential for clinical impact.

The mission of OMPRN is to enhance molecular pathology capacity across the province by promoting molecular pathology research, education, and awareness.

The Molecular Pathology Education Associate will work with the OMPRN Project Manager and Education Lead to advance the following priority areas:

Develop educational programs to strengthen connections between OMPRN and its stakeholders at universities, hospitals and community cancer centers.

  • Contribute to the development of an interconnected molecular pathology educational ecosystem, which includes online and inperson offerings, to incentivize OMPRN membership.
  • Assist with establishing a molecular pathologyoriented online curricula for a range of topics, including clinical trials education.


The schedule for this position may infrequently require the incumbent to work flexible hours, including weekends, to accommodate educational events.


Job Description:


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Contribute to the development, design and implementation of projects and curricula in molecular pathology education in support of various projects and acts as liaison for OMPRN partners.
  • Collaborate with experts to develop, maintain, and contribute to an interactive online cancer molecular pathology case database.
  • Establish a Molecular Pathology Ambassador program that would strengthen links between OMPRN and Ontariobased universities and hospitals, including community practices with a cancer center.
  • Assist with planning of virtual and inperson educational opportunities at OMPRNsponsored events, including its annual scientific meeting.
  • Collaborate with patient partners to develop patientoriented molecular pathology educational material for remote and inperson engagement.
  • Contribute to authoring manuscripts on Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) based on existing and forthcoming OMPRNdeveloped educational resources.
  • Develop interview questionnaires, surveys, and other tools as required for the assigned project(s).
  • Prepare visual and verbal presentations, and participate in research meetings and conferences.
  • Support budgeting and account administration, as required.
  • Work as part of a team and promote education and research; contribute to the enhancement of the profile of OMPRN; develop and implement communications initiatives for the various programs and opportunities offered.
  • Develop resources including website content pertaining to the OMPRN education portfolio.
  • Undertake other duties as delegated in support of molecular pathology education projects and programs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Graduate (M.Sc., Ph.
D. or equivalent) degree in biological sciences, health sciences, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in biomedical, cancer and/or pathology research.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMSs) and elearning authoring software (e.x. Articulate 360 suite) is considered an asset.
  • Social media and website development experience is an asset.
  • Experience with image and video editing software is an asset.
  • Understanding of continuing professional development (CPD) accreditation requirements and processes is an asset.
  • Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
