Today, this essential downtown landmark has completed a multi-million dollar transformation, reimagining its lobby, rooms, dining venues, event spaces, and Fairmont Gold - the property's exclusive hotel within a hotel luxury experience.
Another stunning chapter for Fairmont Royal York has begun.Job Description:
- To provide efficient food and beverage service to all internal guests. To understand all duties and go about your duties in a kind and helpful manner. Adhere to the policies, procedures and standards while serving all coworkers and internal guests.
- To report to duty punctually in uniform in order to maintain the integrity of coworkers and guests
- Perform all specific duties as assigned by the Cafeteria manager/Manager on Duty
- Perform opening and closing duties according to department standards and SOPs set by the manager
- Support all areas of the cafeteria by working as a team
- Set cafeteria buffet food and beverage lines before each meal period begins
- Reset each buffet line for the next meal period
- Ensure cafeteria buffet lines are fully stocked at all times during meal periods
- Ensure items are identified for reordering by effectively communicating to the manger on duty on a daily basis utilizing written and verbal communication methods.
- Receiving good from the stores department and properly storing away items using FIFO method and Ecosure standards
- Ensure tables are cleared, cleaned and sanitized for guest use
- Responsible for ensuring all Ecosure standards are met including but not limited to hot and cold holding logs, sanitizer buckets filled and in use and all items are stored, rotated, labelled and dated correctly
- Monitoring the cleanliness of the colleague mini fridge and clearing if necessary any items that have been left for over 24 hours
- Conduct yourself with a pleasant and helpful attitude towards internal and external guests, supervisors and managers while providing efficient and friendly service
- Adheres to the requirements of controlling and recording food consumption via punching meal tickets
- All additional meals to be purchased by "add on meal cards" through Talent & Culture
- Carry out any other reasonable duty that may be requested that pertains to the total operation of the outlet
Qualifications:
- Food Handling Certificate
- Previous work experience in a restaurant/food and beverage setting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a team player attitude
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
- Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
