COMPENSATION:
CUPE Clerical-Technical Employees Payband 4
$29.81 to $31.81
HOURS:8.0 hours per day, Monday-Friday (12-month classification)
JOB SUMMARY:
The Information Systems Support Technician is responsible for providing service and distribution of Divisional computer
equipment and peripherals. The Support Technician assists in the installation of hardware and software. they have the
responsibility to assist teaching staff wherever possible with the use of technology within the guidelines and regulations and
policies of the Louis Riel School Division.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provide troubleshooting, maintenance, setup, and service of Division owned information technology.
- Assist school personnel in the use of information technology resources with students.
- Maintain and coordinate distribution, inventory, registration and recording of all new and existing information technology
- Coordinate and direct subcontractors when required.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):
Education and Training:
- Completion of Grade 12 education.
- Diploma or certificate program related to an IT discipline from an accredited postsecondary institution or equivalent
considered.
Experience, Knowledge, & Skills:
- Skills and experience pertaining to troubleshooting and repairing Information Technology (Computers, tablets, basic
- network infrastructure).
- Electrical Contractor licence C or Province of Manitoba limited specialized trace licence ('M' licence) preferred.
- Proven successful experience and abilities working with current networking strategies.
- Strong ability to prioritize and organize tasks and projects.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently.
- Strong communications skills combined with ability to explain complex concepts to clients.
- Excellent understanding of role of confidentiality and privacy issues in a school setting.
- Ability to do some lift, carry, and instal of LRSD equipment.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Clear report from the Child Abuse Registry.
- Respect In School or equivalent training is required.
- Reliable vehicle and valid Manitoba driver's licence are required.
