About Us:


The Office of the Registrar is dedicated to helping our students achieve their academic goals by providing to the Western community an array of integrated student related services in a confidential and professional environment.


Responsibilities:

Working with the Manager of Exams, the Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day operation of all Western exams (e.g. Central exams, Accommodated exams, Remote exams, test scheduling, and test scanning), ensuring that equity and fair assessment is achieved for all student groups.

The Team Leader will coordinate staff resources, adhering to budget constraints, and ensuring the effective implementation of policies and procedures.

The Team Leader also implements new exam procedures, and ensures services meet the needs of students, faculty, staff, and external customers, while overseeing online assessments and accommodations to ensure students' assessments are approved, processed and set up in conjunction with faculty members, and supporting the team in technical trouble shooting and customer service for approximately 53,000 assessments per year.

The role also supports remote proctoring solutions for the campus and works to expand its client base as a revenue generating service.


Qualifications:


  • Education:
  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Certificate in leadership, management, or project management preferred
  • Experience:
  • 3 years' experience working with integrated systems and aligning resources, preferably in a postsecondary environment
  • Experience leading staff and projects
  • Experience working in registrarial services or within an exam services unit preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and Ministry of Colleges and Universities
  • Ability to lead groups of people effectively including those who may be disconnected geographically
  • Ability to adapt to change and master new technical and organization concepts and processes
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage activities for both self and others effectively
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and implement change with a strategic approach
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
  • Strong customer service skills to handle inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner with a desire to achieve results
  • Selfdriven, independent thinker who is highly motivated and possesses an intrinsic passion for quality
