The Department of Management and Organizations in the School of Business invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor with an emphasis on Property Management, commencing July 1, 2024, subject to final budgetary approval.

The position aligns to the Property Management minor, which is one of the only post-secondary credit programs in Canada educating undergraduates for careers in the extensive and impressive property management industry. The successful applicant will enhance existing courses and develop new courses in the Property Management minor as needed, provide guidance to curriculum development within the Department, support initiatives to build enrollment in the minor, and engage with community partners to contribute to the job-readiness of graduates. Additionally, the successful applicant will teach a variety of undergraduate courses and will work collaboratively to contribute service to the operation of the University.Applicants will have the opportunity to pursue academic and/or community-based scholarly activity.

Teaching areas include, but are not limited to, introductory and advanced courses in the Property Management minor (e.g., introduction to property management, legal issues for the property manager, managing client relationships, commercial property management, and revenue management). As the successful candidate may have a background in a different core business area (e.g., Management, Marketing, and Law) with specific expertise in Property Management, additional teaching areas may include other courses in the department and across the School of Business.

The successful applicant will hold a master's or terminal degree in a related field, demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate education, and provide evidence of teaching excellence at the post-secondary level. Pedagogical innovation, including implementing universal design for learning approaches and work-integrated learning projects, is strongly encouraged.

Professional and/or industry experience in property management is desirable, as is holding a professional designation or having strong capacity to attain a professional designation. Applicants that demonstrate a plan and the ability for a research program will be given additional consideration.

Your application should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching dossier (including recent teaching evaluations), academic transcripts, and three names for references (with contact information). Detailed reference reviews will be undertaken for short-listed candidates only.

All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.

This position is included under the Faculty Association collective agreement.
