Overview:

To ensure the efficient functioning of the deli department, providing customers with the best quality of deli, cheese and pasta products, ensuring courteous, timely customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensuring exceptional customer service is provided in a courteous manner to maintain our reputation for friendly, effective, and personalized experience
To direct and supervise all deli staff to secure efficient and courteous customer service;
To order deli/cheese and pasta products and supplies;
To be responsible for organizing and setting up the department, ensuring proper signage is received, made up and put up correctly;
To ensure all price changes are processed and "special" items are identified;
To maximize sales and gross profit, ensuring sales' goals and budgets are met;
To organize any damages and be responsible for ensuring all returns are taken care of;
To train new employees;
To schedule all deli clerks ensuring the strict control of wage costs;
To interpret and administer Company policy and ensure compliance with the union contract;
To ensure the maintenance of equipment and the safety and sanitation of the department;
To respond to any customer inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring courteous customer relations at all times.
Exceptional customer service skills
Flexibility to work a variety of hours including days, evenings, and weekends;
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, under pressure;
Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
