Ready to make a meaningful difference to the quality of healthcare in B.C.? Join us as an IT leader in the Regional Digital Solutions (RDS) portfolio, where you'll oversee a team of analysts who design and coordinate the testing processes for the Oracle Health / Cerner Millennium EHR.

For this complex and integrated system, you'll design testing strategy and plans, manage testing for large releases, and lead a team of experts.

As testing and quality assurance are critical for any EHR implementation and operations, you'll play a key role in this transformational team


Reporting to the Director, Clinical Solutions and Transformation the Manager, Testing, Enterprise Clinical Information Solutions, RDS has direct responsibility for the provision of high quality and timely services to the organization including the supervision of department staff and the development of departmental policies, procedures and processes.

The Manager is also responsible for managing, monitoring and delivering the transformation, integration and innovation of Enterprise Clinical Information Solutions.

In collaboration with the Manager Clinical Application Support, manage the consolidation of multiple Enterprise Clinical Information Solutions, across VCH / PHC and PHSA to support improved information sharing and cost effectiveness across the integrated health enterprise.

In collaboration with the Manager Clinical Application Support, deliver positive client experience and support adoption of clinical solutions across the integrated health enterprise.


What you'll do

  • Leads the overall test effort including strategy, planning and resource management, event logistics, followup on issue resolution, entry and exit criteria compliance.
  • Develops and continuously improves existing and new processes and methods.
  • Actively contribute to estimation and planning, risk assessment, contingency planning, tracking and management of progress, issues, risk, and resources.
  • Develops effective partnerships with clinical and technical stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor team members regarding testing best practices and processes.
  • Prepare and submit detailed test reports to describe testing outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and provide recommendations.
  • Provides leadership and oversight of the daytoday operations, including actively managing to optimize resource utilization and service quality
  • During transition to the integrated IMIT / IMIS organization, support, maintain, sustain and enhance enterprise clinical information solutions for VCH / PHC.
  • Supervises designated staff, establishing clear definitions of responsibility for each employee, reviewing workload assignments, and adjusting schedules according to workload to ensure levels meet operational requirements. Ensures all job descriptions within area of responsibility clarify and delineate position expectations for the area.
  • Evaluates individual and team performance in collaboration with appropriate internal stakeholders and peer staff. Fosters a positive working environment including seeking opportunities to reward and recognize team and individual contributions, listening to the team's concerns and enabling decisionmaking at the front line. Investigates work and staff issues and where necessary initiates disciplinary action up to and including termination. Participates in management of labour relations matters and approves essential services levels as necessary.
  • Develops the annual operating budget for designated services. Ensures adherence to the budget by performing duties such as monitoring expenditures and recommending remedial action and takes corrective action to ensure performance to plan.
