Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is a leading global provider of environmental, health, safety, risk, and social consulting services. We are currently seeking an outstanding Environmental Impact Assessment/Permitting Consultant to join our Canadian regulatory and permitting team.This role would be based from one of our offices in either Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, or Ottawa but would allow for flexibility and remote work from other locations.
This posting is designed for a motivated, career-minded person who enjoys problem-solving and working within a multi-stakeholder environment.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support on a variety of permitting, regulatory, environmental impact assessment, and climate change tasks in support of clients' projects.
- Work on multiple projects alongside project managers and task managers to execute scope/budget/schedule to meet client's expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
- Support engagement activities with communities and stakeholders as part of the project design and permitting process;
- Support business development activities, initiatives, and programs.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees worldwide.
QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Bachelor degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering, or related field.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in the resource development industry.
- Understanding of environmental effects related to mining, oil and gas, energy transition or renewables developments.
- Prior experience in environmental consulting or government is considered an asset.
- Experience working within Canadian federal, provincial and territorial regulations and guidelines.
- Environmental assessment and planning experience, including execution of full lifecycle environmental services or similar work for capital projects is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with project management approaches for field planning/coordination.
- Prior experience in proposal and business development programs is considered an asset.
- Experience with community and stakeholder engagement is considered an asset.
- Ability to follow directions and take initiative when required.
- Ability to connect and collaborate with team members, driving execution or projects and initiatives.
- Excellent writing, communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a demanding work environment.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Indigenous languages, English and French) is an asset.
- Strong commitment to safety, including following established health and safety protocols.
