The team:


Scotiabank's Ops - Tools & Monitoring - AIOps Platform's Performance and Capacity Management (PCM) team's mandate is to help minimize production outage.

The team leverages industry's best monitoring tools and practices and offers full stack end-to-end monitoring services in the Bank, including Canadian Banking, International Banking, and Wealth Management.

The team offers consulting services, deploys monitoring tools, investigates performance bottlenecks, and supports production incidents.


The role:

Our team is expected to provide rotational on-call support.


Is this role right for you?

  • You will be migrating Scotiabank's onpremises Dynatrace environments to Software as a Service (SaaS), while introducing Single Sign-On (SSO) and Dynatrace Grail logging solution in the new SaaS environment.
  • You will be deploying and providing support to Application Performance Management tools, as well as firefighting production problems that are performance related.
  • You analyze performance data and act on negative performance trends to identify root cause.
  • You will utilize your ability to implement and exploit performance tools from 3rd party vendors; plus participate in the technical assessments of 3rd party tools and vendors.
  • You will consult with the development teams on large projects to provide PCM services, ensuring:
  • There are no monitoring gaps
  • The design has been optimized from a cost perspective
  • The accuracy of the capacity plan
  • The completeness of the stress testing process

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You have at least 3+ years of handson technical working experience in performance tuning & capacity planning.
  • You have at least 2+ years of handson technical working experience in installing, configuring, troubleshooting different Dynatrace components, such as the Managed Cluster Node, ActiveGate, OneAgent, Dynatrace Operator & dynatracegcpmonitor.
  • You have at least 2+ years of handson technical working experience in provisioning, monitoring, scaling, optimizing cloud resources in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) & Microsoft Azure.
  • You can demonstrate technical working knowledge in monitoring Docker container, networks, volume, PCF Go-Router, Diego cells, and Kubernetes pods, nodes, deployments, and services.
  • You can demonstrate technical working knowledge in CI/CD development, such as managing BitBucket branches and repositories, Jenkins build jobs and plugins, and Ansible playbook development.
  • You have a solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, network devices & protocols and their impact on web performance.
  • Splunk and Dynatrace Grail experience is an asset.
  • Postsecondary education in Computer Science or Math or Engineering disciplines is an asset.
