The CSS Operations Manager role in Toronto will report to a Senior CSS Operations Manager in Alight's Libertyville, IL location - USA.

This role requires on-site presence, and will include, but is not limited to:


  • Managing a team of skilled machine operators and processors.
  • Inventory control
  • Process control and documentation
  • Direct training of operators and potential trainers
  • Supplier relations
  • Internal and external SLA delivery
  • Process issue tracking and resolution
  • Attendance and HR policy management
  • Working and performing duties for client deliverables up to 50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities

Detailed responsibilities will include, but aren't limited to:

  • Working with upstream CSS leadership to establish and manage CSS operations.
  • Recruiting partnering with Alight HR and CSS leadership. and CBI
  • Equipment Installs, stabilization and maximum utilization.
  • Warehousing optimization
  • Management of data imaging services
  • Management of mailing and postal services
  • Ensuring team compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Adherence to and coaching on best practices.
  • Performance management
  • People performance and development


  • Operations

  • Quality and Ontime Delivery, SLA compliance
  • Adjusts department plans/priorities to ensure all client deliverables are met.
  • Issue resolution: Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions
  • Issuetracking and control
  • Daily performance reporting
  • Partnering with US based operations as needed to develop and manage production schedules.


  • Process Improvement

  • Create and implement process improvement initiatives, both as projects and as ongoing daily best practices

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in operations, supply chain, logistics, or related business field a plus

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Active listening and effective interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge and experience with Canadian postal requirements a plus.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize work, and drive results.
  • Researching, identifying, and documenting process improvement opportunities and issue resolution.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Responds willingly, promptly, and effectively to changing work environments, changing priorities, and new situations.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability.
  • Strong process management skills
  • Developed analytical skills ability to interpret and use data for production control and process improvements

Work Experience

  • Experience directly managing diverse teams in an operations environment.
  • Experience working in and managing in teamoriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.
