We are looking for a

Disability Medical Coordinator (Return-To-Work Specialist) in Oakville, ON.
The Disability Medical Coordinator (Return-To-Work Specialist) manages complex disability claims in a pro-active manner. This in an all inclusive role dealing with the administration and management of both WSIB and S&A claims. This involves working directly with claimant to establish the earliest possible return to employability in a safe manner.

Working with a team for our automotive client, the disability coordinator ensures that the functional abilities of the injured employee are matched with the physical demands of their job.


Accountabilities:


  • Primarily responsible for the Administration of WSIB along with Return to work coordination
  • Filing WSIB Employer's Report of Injury (Form 7) in a timely manner along with regular correspondence
  • Contact injured employees in a timely manner to arrange a returntowork plan
  • Assess functional abilities and match with physical demands of job and/or recommend modifications or accommodations to ensure successful returnto work
  • Develop Physical Demands Analysis (PDAs)
  • Develop realistic, costeffective returntowork plans
  • Provide claimant support during the recovery period
  • Prepare written reports detailing findings and recommendations
  • Track medical coordination and return to work activities

Qualifications and Competencies:


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Good problem solving and decision making skills
  • MS Office Computer skills
  • Prior experience in a unionized or industrial environment an asset
  • Understanding of WSIB legislation Claim and return to work process
