    The FSQA Supervisor has the primary responsibility for protecting the food by supervising FSQA Technicians to effectively implement food safety and quality procedures and meeting all regulatory, customer, and Aspire Bakeries requirements.

    Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for complying with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards (i.e. BRC, SQF)
  • Responsible for supporting the HARPC Team in the implementation of an effective Food Safety plan focused on the elimination of biological, chemical, physical and economically motivated hazards from our foods.
  • Responsible for documentation, control, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) including procedures, records, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding customer requirements
  • Works to reduce customer/consumer complaints for foods manufactured on site using root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventive measures
  • Responsible for the day to day management of the Tech 3, FSQAs including training and development of team and clear identification of objectives to meet the bakery needs
  • Reports food safety and quality issues, corrective actions, and preventive measures to the Manager, FSQA
  • Responsible for coaching, development and performance evaluations of all the Tech 3, FSQAs
  • Ensures completion of Quality Assurance Procedures Annual review by all FSQA Technologists
  • Assist in investigation and disposition of finished product placed on hold as a result of quality issues
  • Maintain the required hygiene, safety and quality standards on the production floor
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or relevant post-secondary science-related courses
  • Training in HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points)
  • Trained in a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard such as BRC or SQF
  • Basic understanding of microbiology
  • 3 years food industry manufacturing or quality experience including supervisory experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that will allow you to build strong and effective working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Excellent knowledge of quality management and food safety systems
