About the role
We're looking for an Underwriting Assistant, Surety to join our growing team

As an Underwriting Assistant, Surety your work will have a big impact within our Surety department. People will count on you to deliver Intact's legendary service by analyzing, selecting and processing risks in Surety to contribute to a profitable

portfolio of business.


This is a full-time hybrid permanent opportunity available in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton or Winnipeg. You must be able to work from one of these office locations a minimum of two days per week.

What you'll do here:

  • Distribute department correspondence.
  • Set up new business, prepare correspondence and bonds, and maintain current policies.
  • Order reports, references, financial statements and other information as directed by underwriters.
  • Input information into various systems.
  • Be responsible for all Word processing functions associated with commercial surety, including the preparation of bonds, renewals, riders, indemnities, and correspondence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers.
  • Request financial information at appropriate intervals.
  • Review incoming bonds issued by brokers for compliance, accuracy and completeness.
  • Review and respond to surety clerical audits and make necessary corrections or recommendations.

Qualifications:


What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum of 2 years of insurance experience.
  • Underwriting Assistant experience is a strong asset
  • Legendary customer service and relationship building skills.
  • Proficient data entry skills and high attention to detail.
  • Computer proficient with the ability to navigate through multiple systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible with the ability to prioritise work and thrive in a high volume, fast pace environment.
  • Highly organized to manage workflow efficiently without continuous supervision.
  • Committed to selfdevelopment.
