Our Hawkesbury plant is looking for a Junior Human Resources Coordinator.


THE CHALLENGES THAT AWAIT YOU


Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Coordinator will provide a range of HR services, including sourcing exceptional talent, collaborating with department managers and employees of the plant on a regular basis, and will participate in different HR initiatives and projects.

As part of the team, your role is crucial to ensure we hire the best talent that will contribute to Montebello Packaging success while bringing ideas that will help sustain and build a dynamic work environment.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

Recruitment

  • Coordinate all stages of the employee recruitment, selection and orientation process by assisting Managers and Supervisors in their efforts to meet business needs;
  • Provide assistance to hiring manager in developing and revising job descriptions as required;
  • Post job vacancies on various platforms;
  • Screen resumes, conduct telephone interviews, and face to face interview as required;
  • Conduct reference verifications, background checks and prescreening tests as required;
  • Prepare employment letters;
  • Assure that the hiring process steps are all completed, and conduct the onboarding of new employees;
  • Plan, organize and attend job fairs as needed;

Employee Relations

  • Ensure that employees and supervisors receive timely answers to HR questions;
  • Establish and maintain supportive relationships with employees, supervisors and managers;
  • Process employee requests and provide relevant information and documentation;
  • Conducts preliminary investigations of complaints brought forward by employees and management in the plant, submitting information to HR Director for case management;
  • Prepare formal communications to employees as needed;
  • Ensuring and maintaining all required data in the HRIS (Ceridian) is accurate and entered in a timely manner;
  • Assist with benefits administration as required;
  • Keep abreast on labor laws and ensure that current policies are aligned;
  • Provide information on policies, collective agreement and processes;
  • Plan and organize employee events;
  • Maintain and report HR related KPIs;
  • Ensure performance evaluation processes are being followed;
  • Support administrative tasks in regards to WSIB claims;
  • Perform exit interviews.

HR Projects

  • Assist with different HR projects as needed.

Your profile and skills

  • Minimum 13 years of experience in Human Resources, both in recruitment and other HR generalist areas. Preferably, in a manufacturing environment;
  • University degree in Human Resources management, or related field of study would be an asset;
  • Solid understanding of labor laws and employment regulations;
  • Knowledge of HR functions and best practices;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of people at varying levels of the organization;
  • Ability to work independently, as well as effectively communicating with management;
  • Ability to demonstrate strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee relations matters and employee information;
  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines;
  • Remarkable organizational and time management skills;
  • Strong decisionmaking and problemsolving skills;
  • Fluency in both French and English required.
