TITLE:
University Preparation Instructor (Sessional)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

UPRE 099 -
University Preparation: This full-time course (10 hours per week) teaches the tools students need to be successful in post-secondary education. Topics include goal setting, time management, studying, note-taking, reading, writing, and oral communication. Students suspended from the College due to academic performance (low GPA) may be reinstated on successfully completing UPRE 099.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:
Part-time, contract

TERM:
Fall 2023 (September - December 2023)

LOCATION:
Burnaby/Vancouver Campus

SCHEDULE:

1)

Monday to Thursday from 6:00 pm-8:20 pm

2)

Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am - 10:50 am

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of a Master's Degree in English or equivalent
Two years of experience teaching the same or similar courses at another BC postsecondary institution
Able to demonstrate success in innovative or studentcentred teaching techniques on a Zoom/Canvas platform
Excellent interpersonal skills
Knowledge, of course, learning outcomes an asset
Proficient with educational technology, including databases and online learning environments
Excellent instructional capability
Able to maintain professionalism and friendliness when working with others
Strong Proficiency in English
