We are currently looking to fill the position of Financial Analyst at our Lingan Generating Station, reporting to the Senior Business Analyst.

    Key elements of this role include:

    As a member of both the Power Generation Finance team supporting the Lingan Generating Station the Financial Analyst will be responsible for the following:

  • Working with business leaders to prepare budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Tracking and monitoring operating expenses to budget/forecast.
  • Providing accounting for the monthly, quarterly and yearly close and related reporting.
  • Preparing account analysis and reconciliations.
  • Providing accounting and system support to the capital project team at Lingan.
  • Assisting the Management Teams to meet financial goals and identify cost saving initiatives.
  • Perform project and operational tasks with good overall quality, while being able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.

  • As the ideal candidate, you have a Business degree in Finance or Accounting, an accounting designation (CPA). A minimum of three years of experience in a related role. Applicants with other combinations of relevant training and experience will be considered.
  • You have excellent computer skills using Microsoft Excel and are comfortable using accounting software.
  • A working knowledge of Oracle Financial System, Power Plan and PeopleSoft would be considered an asset.
  • You possess solid oral and written communication skills and have demonstrated success in effectively presenting and communicating ideas at a variety of levels.
  • You have strong organizational skills, are details-oriented, and are comfortable working to deadlines.
  • You can work well both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.
