LOCATION:
Initial placement - Paris Customer Service Office/Hybrid


_Minimum Qualifications:
_


  • Postsecondary degree in Planning or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • RPP and membership of OPPI/ CIP preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience in land use planning, preferably in a municipal planning setting.
  • A strong understanding of the provincial planning regime, including the _Planning Act_, _Provincial Policy Statement_, and the Places to Grow for the Greater Golden Horseshoe Provincial Growth Plan.
  • Excellent report writing, communication, presentation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Superior interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise significant discretion and sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated project management, dispute resolution, and analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Computer literacy utilizing Office suite of software products, City View (preferred), and GIS.
  • Ability to travel as necessary through the County for work purposes.
  • Familiarity with Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) processes and procedures, including attending hearings, preparing witness statements, and dealing with settlement negotiations.

  • Eligibility for or membership in OPPI/CIP or working towards a RPP designation.
  • Municipal experience would be considered an asset.

_ Duties:
_


  • Attend Council and other meetings, as required, to represent the Development Services Department on planning interests of the County.
  • Represent the Development Services Department regarding referrals to the OLT as required.
  • Supervising consultants as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Annual Salary Range - $78,679 - $92,037
(Job Grade 7) 35 hours/week
