Position Summary


Working within the Human Resources department and reporting to the Human Resources Manager the Human Resources Administrator will act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees.

Your main administrative duties include maintaining personnel records, managing HR documents (e.g., employment records and onboarding guides) and updating internal databases.

Scheduling and preparing documentation for all HR related Recruitment practices.

What you'll do

  • Organize and maintain personnel records, enter new data, and update previous employee data in internal HR Databases.
  • Update HRIS databases (e.g., record sick or maternity leave)
  • Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics (e.g. turnover rates)
  • Answer employees queries about HRrelated issues.
  • Order and maintain office supplies for HR department.
  • Participate in HR projects (e.g., help organize a job fair event)
  • Supports HR Projects and Initiatives
  • Runs basic and standardized HR Reports as needed.
  • Assist recruiters, and other HR staff with activities, such as onboarding of new recruits.
  • Answer any employee queries about people or HRrelated issues, and help them resolve them internally, if possible
  • Publish and update job ads on careers pages
  • Schedule interviews
  • Experience working with and securing highly confidential information;
  • Ability to learn new software
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your Supervisor/Manager, Director, or the CAO

What you bring

  • 2+ years' experience in an office environment
  • Experience with HRIS and ATS software preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize timelines.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including; time management, organizational, planning and people skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, risk management and cost control skills.
  • Knowledge of collecting and analyzing data, and ability to produce reports.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations as needed
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to provide services in a prompt, respectful and unbiased manner, in accordance with existing Seabird Island Band policies and procedures.
  • Intermediate to Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Internet, and Outlook).
  • Excellent active listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adhere to Oath of Confidentiality and Seabird Island Band Policies and Procedures.
  • Knowledge, respect and understanding of Stó:lō culture, traditions and language is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with First Nations community is considered an asset.
  • Valid BC Driver's License, Class
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check required
