Applications are invited for the temporary part time position of International Contract Training Assistant within Global Engagement Division at Niagara College located at the Daniel J.

Patterson campus. The starting salary is $22.56/hr for a 24 hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary. This is a temporary position and is set to commence April 2023 to January 2024.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides confidential administrative support to the Manager, Global Customized Training and Consulting
  • Serves as the first point of contact welcoming new GCTC students, answering inquiries, and addressing problems and concerns
  • Compiles and tracks information for all GCTC programs and incoming students
  • Assists in planning and coordinating predeparture training and information sessions
  • Inputs all GCTC data into Salesforce and SharePoint
  • Assists in the creation of schedules and itineraries relating to GCTC groups
  • Prepares meeting agendas and other routine correspondence for GCTC groups
  • Liaises with student services when needed, to assist with GCTC student inquires
  • Schedules rooms and logistics for regular meetings and presentations
  • Coordinates transportation for group activities and site visits
  • When required, posts pertinent information for students on Blackboard and/or Moodle to GCTC participants
  • Occasionally communicates with international partners, agents, and government funders to provide student/participant group updates
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with local industry and global partners
  • Occasionally liaises with internal staff to finalize details of training programs
  • Coordinates with the School of English Language Studies, Student Services, and the Registrar's Office to have grade reports and certificates prepared for graduation ceremonies or couriered to partners around the world
  • Other related duties as required

Qualifications:


  • Two (2) year diploma in Business or a similar field of study
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Experience in Salesforce and SharePoint considered an asset
  • Experience working with international students and logistics
  • Must be able to work independently, exercise initiative and good judgement, sensitivity, and confidentiality in dealing with internal NC stakeholders, GCTC groups, clients, and industry partners
  • Strong intercultural communication skills; experience working in a diverse environment or crosscultural competencies obtained by living abroad
