We have an exciting opportunity to join our Head Office team at Commissionaires Nova Scotia (CNS), working closely with the
CNSOperations team to help shape the future of security services in our province.

Responsible to the COO, the Operations Administrative Assistant plays a key role in the operational success of our organisation.

This role is excitingly fast-paced, and your primary role will be to provide operational and administrative support to the COO with additional administrative support to our executive C-suite.

As a service provider to our clients,
CNShas continuously changing priorities, demands and deadlines so you will need to be adaptable, work independently and have a high level of detail to ensure our strategic goals, policies and procedures are appropriately met.


Our COO manages the operational growth of
CNSand is responsible for meeting our overall objectives and mandates, they are the foundation of our organisation.

We will need you to support the COO in achieving effective communication and integration between the operation teams and all other corporate Departments.


WHO WE'RE SEEKING

Are you?

Highly Organized and Fast Paced - On a daily basis you will have to manage multiple projects, programs and ad hoc requests so being highly organized, accurate and quick are essential in meeting our strategic goals.


This role will:

  • Manage the relationship with our Insurance provider(s), managing claims, continuous improvement reviews and operational administration.
  • Working in collaboration with our ISO Manager, manage ISO service delivery across our operational teams, and evaluate current processes for risk avoidance within ISO.
  • Manage the
    CNSSpecial Constable Program, in conjunction with the NS Dept of Justice, working with/developing strong business relationships with external organisations.
  • The Administrative Assistant must have the ability to research and understand legislation/bylaws across all
    CNSDistricts when processing Special Constables.

Knowledgeable with Attention to Detail - The role will need you to have (or develop) an in-depth understanding of all operational associated policies, programs and legislation related to our security services and client needs.


This role will:

  • Need a high level of proficiency and knowledge in MS Office and administration practices.

A Relationship Builder and Effective Communicator - As a key part of the role, you will be motivated by developing effective working relationships, being extremely collaborative and having exceptional communication skills (verbal/written).


This role will:

  • Actively cultivate/manage relationships and communication with internal and external stakeholders, clients and suppliers.
  • Require you to genuinely enjoy collaborating with people across a myriad of departments/agencies
  • Produce detailed Reports and Minutes for our executive team and have experience/be comfortable working in an executive environment.

Requirements:


  • Be a Permanent Resident of Canada or Canadian Citizen.
  • Not have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted.
  • Be able to provide fingerprints and complete a criminal record check.
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English (the ability to work in both official languages would be considered an asset).
