2023 Fall Student - Personal and Commercial Banking - Digital Fulfillment Strategist (4 months)


What is the opportunity?


AF possesses a few unique dynamics that sets it apart from the rest of the Personal Financing Products businesses - it has its own salesforce that reports directly to the business, and the commercial and retail sides of the business are combined under one umbrella.

The Retail Operations Strategy team, a part of the broader Automotive Finance National Office team, is responsible for stewarding Operational outcomes on behalf of the Automotive Finance product suite primarily focused on Dealer Experience and Cost.


This is a fantastic opportunity for the intern to meaningfully impact the Dealer Experience and Operational Costs by contributing to our Digital Fulfillment vision of Digital Fulfillment strategy.

The intern will act as the Strategy Lead for Digital Document Identification & Data Extraction to enable the automated identification and data extraction/validation from loan and supporting documents required to process/fund a vehicle loan.


What will you do?

  • Conduct internal and external research of Digital Document Identification & Validation capabilities
  • Produce a prioritized a list of technologies Automotive Finance could pursue in this eandeavour; complete a high level costing and benefits business case
  • Establish a road map with a project plan and begin executing a 'test and learn' with one or more of the technologies; during this phase, establish a Funding Request (PAR) for a future project to proceed with the technology
  • Further build the road map and project plan for the future project which could be utilized should Funding be secured
  • Produce a hand off package of artifacts, learnings and perform a knowledge transfer to the team to establish a Subject Matter Expert and for seamless execution of the future project

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have

  • Currently enrolled in a postsecondary program for the 2023/202 school year with a Business focus
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with others in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong written/oral communication skills as well as research skills to identify and develop as well as convey thoughtful and insightful explanations or information
  • MS PowerPoint & presentation skills
  • Attention to detail and time management

Nice To Have

  • Previous exposure to Digitization, Digital Transformation or Digital Document Processing technologies
  • In addition to a Business focused postsecondary program, either a minor or dual program with a Technology adjacent discipline is a strong asset
