Comet Welding is currently looking to enhance our team with the following position:

Operations Assistant


The Operations Assistant will provide administrative support and assist with various operational tasks, including purchasing/receiving, time and material entry, order entry, inventory adjustments and updates, and reporting tasks.

The Operations Assistant will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and finance, to ensure smooth operations and efficient processes.

This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide administrative support for purchasing and receiving activities, including vendor communication, documentation, and order tracking.
  • Assist with time and material entry from the floor, ensuring accurate and timely data entry, and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
  • Support the order entry process, including order verification, documentation, and communication with internal teams and customers.
  • Assist in the setup of inventory locations and maintain accurate records of inventory levels and transactions.
  • Coordinate inventory adjustments and updates, including pricing, vendor part numbers, and reorder points, working with relevant stakeholders to ensure accurate and uptodate information.
  • Assist with generating and distributing daily, weekly, and monthly reports, including operational reporting and management reporting, ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency enhancement, and provide support in implementing changes.
  • Provide general administrative support to the operations team as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certificate in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operations assistant or administrative role, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in using MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a teamoriented environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles, purchasing practices, and reporting techniques.
  • Experience with ERP systems or inventory management software is a plus.

Salary:
$45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
