The Prep Cook / Line Cook will be expected to complete the following job duties:

Responsibilities

  • Prepare pizzas, sandwiches, appetizers, and desserts to the highest quality standard
  • Prepare foods including sauces, meats, chopping vegetables, and desserts for weekly service
  • Undertake prep cooking duties to the highest quality.
  • Bring new ideas to prepare dishes
  • Measuring and preparing the ingredients and seasonings to be used in the cooking of dishes
  • Managing breakfast/brunch service
  • Managing all food order slips and ensuring that customers' orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Keep track of inventory and update the inventory management system as required
  • Labeling and stocking all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible

  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Requirements:


  • Proven experience as
    a cook; experience in a middle eastern restaurant is an asset:
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Able to selfmanage when needed
  • Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
  • Very good physical condition and endurance
  • High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent


Salary:
$16.50-$19.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift

Experience:


  • Food preparation: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
