The Opportunity


TSMC is currently seeking an
HR & Talent Acquisition Advisor to join our HR team in our Montréal corporate office, located at 1000 Rue Sherbrooke West.

The incumbent will work a Monday to Friday schedule, with some flexibility required, and on a hybrid model consisting of 3 days/week in the office and 2 days/week working from home.

Occasional travel to our mine site, located near Schefferville QC, may be required.


Reporting to the Assistant Manager - Corporate Human Resources, the incumbent will be responsible for the full-cycle recruitment (sourcing, screening, interviewing, evaluating) of various positions (trades, industrial/mining positions, engineers) in response to the Operations recruitment needs at the TSMC mine site and corporate office.

The incumbent will also lead the employee relations function for the corporate office, design and facilitate training programs for our learning and development function, and support processes and projects involving compensation, benefits and reporting.

The incumbent will also collaborate on various HR projects and process improvement activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct job and task analyses to document job duties and requirements with Hiring Manager, as required.
  • Creating and posting technical job descriptions.
  • Perform prescreening calls to assess applicants' technical skills.
  • Coordinate interviews with Hiring Managers. Follow up on the interview process status.
  • Document, track, and maintain applicant records and status of engagements in the applicant tracking system.
  • Conduct research and provide support for target recruitment activities
  • Perform various administrative duties in support of the recruiting function
  • Build a strong talent pipeline and help hire and retain skilled employees.
  • Participate in workforce planning and support department heads with recruitment and selection requirements
  • Develop strategies that foster employee engagement
  • Develop performance driven culture using performance and development management systems
  • Drive employee performance/excellence through organizational development programs
  • Address employee relations concerns and questions
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and respect employee confidentiality

Your Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in Talent Acquisition and/or Human Resources
  • Handson experience with various interview formats (e.g. phone, virtual and facetoface).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (English is the business language used in both corporate and site offices.)
  • Technical expertise with an ability to understand and explain job requirements for various trades and different types of industrial/mining positions
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and HRIS programs
  • Solid knowledge of sourcing techniques (e.g. social media recruiting and Boolean search)
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management or relevant discipline, an asset.
  • Experience in the Mining, Oil and Gas, or Heavy Industry sectors on remote sites would be an asset as well.
  • Fluently bilingual excellent communication skills in both English and French are an asset.
