THE ROLE:

The Room Attendant is responsible to make sure our guest rooms are always 'fresh and welcoming' for our guests.


ACTIVITIES:

The duties and responsibilities for the Room Attendant include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Clean and service assigned guest rooms in a timely and organized manner according to procedures and standards.
  • Notify guest services (front desk) team when service is complete so rooms may be sold.
  • Report any room unable to be serviced within appropriate time standards to supervisor.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or necessary repairs to the supervisor.
  • Respond to requests from guests, supervisors or management team promptly and efficiently.
  • Keep the linen cart and supplies organized and in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Maintain the security of issued equipment, keys, and supplies on a daily basis.
  • Report and record lost and found items to the supervisor as per protocol.
  • Follow procedures for standard cleaning and selfinspecting program.
  • Respond efficiently to guest requests in a friendly manner and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times through appropriate attire and grooming.
  • Abide by company policies and procedures diligently.

  • Since cleaning is the major responsibility of this position, Room Attendants spend a significant portion of their workday involved in the following: unlocking, opening, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending and stretching. The vast majority of the time is spent moving about the property in order to clean guestrooms, and this is usually accomplished by walking. Communication skills are necessary some of the time in order to interact with hotel guests or staff. In addition to operating a vacuum cleaner_.

COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:


  • Previous hotel cleaning and customer service experiences are an asset.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Stand or walk for an extended time period.
  • Flexible attitude to scheduled shifts the incumbent may need to work nights, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Flexible and energetic with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Literacy skills reading, writing, and oral.
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Work well independently and in a team environment with minimum supe
