Summer student job in Business Analytics & Insights (BAI)

Pfizer Canada is looking to hire a talented summer student for its Business Analytics & Insights department. Our team is looking for a proactive, energetic student that has completed at least the 1st year of University and is interested in working with a dynamic team to gain commercial experience in the pharmaceutical industry. In this role, you will be exposed to the various datasets and methodologies used to track Pharmaceutical market dynamics and business performance, and depending on the status of other on-going projects (as well as your level of interest) we would be happy to include you in other exciting projects (such as Market Research read-outs, and AI/Machine learning predictive analytics) to enrich your learning experience.

Core Responsibilities:


  • Leading a project to automate estimating and tracking the number of patients impacted each year by our Pfizer portfolio of medications and vaccines;
  • Manage the creation of new market definitions and qualitycontrol checks for one of our key Tableau performance dashboards called BAI Symphony;
  • Support the updating of important market dynamics Powerpoint slides used within the Operating Plan presentations;
  • Conduct adhoc data pulls, analyses and other desk research to help improve our understanding of the market, a specific therapeutic area and/or to improve the accuracy of key Operating Plan forecast assumptions;
  • Leading a project to organize our Market Research presentations and associated materials on our BAI shared network drive.

Qualifications/Skills:


  • Educational focus: business administration, computer science or a related field is preferred;
  • Selfstarter who can outline steps in a project;
  • Not afraid to network and ask questions;
  • Comfortable working with numbers;
  • Experience working with Excel and Powerpoint;
  • Organized, detailoriented individual;
  • Excellent and open communicator;
  • Bilingualism (English and French is an asset).

Special requirements for this position:


  • Must be currently enrolled and have completed at least one year of University by May 202
  • Must be enrolled in a fulltime program for the upcoming year (September 2023)
  • Legally able to work in Canada


This position will be performed in a hybrid work environment, in the office 2-3 days per week with the ability to work remotely 2-3 days per week.
